I have the distinction of being the very first seed that Farmer Meg planted. Her chubby, 5 year old fingers fumbled getting me into the soil. I remember with excitement as she celebrated gleefully when I germinated, as I grew, and eventually bloomed. I'm a great flower for children of all ages to help grow. I tolerate mild frosts and bloom in sunset colors of gold, orange, and yellow.
help me grow:
Start me indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost for the earliest blooms or direct seed me afterthe last frost. Lightly cover me delicate but spindly seeds.
I do well both in the garden and in containers.
enjoy my bounty:
For fresh bouquets cut my blooms when petals are just opening. We are long lasting blooms.
