Vegetables
With our cool evenings, abundant water, and long summer days, our salad greens and vegetables stay sweet even as the heat gets hotter.
Enjoy a special blend of red and green butter lettuces that make up our sweet and crisp Salad Mix. Because it is freshly harvested and packaged each week, you get the freshest salad available that will actually last up to two weeks in your fridge (for reals!). Or be adventurous and try some of our more uncommon crops like Nettles, Lamb's Quarters, and Native Lettuce. |
Flowers
Whether fresh or dried, these might be the brightest blooms around and when grown with care, harvested at just the right moment for each bloom, and stored properly most fresh flowers can last up to 2 weeks or longer.
Each year I select the best varieties for the farm's conditions as well as saving seeds from previous favs so that with each generation the flowers grow more and more adapted to this land, literally. This gives you some of the best, brightest, and beautiful blooms your hard-earned bucks can buy. |
how does your garden (or farm) grow?
All crops are grown using organic, regenerative, and sustainable methods (even if not certified organic). You've probably heard these terms or looked for them on the food or items you buy and consume, but what do those terms mean on the farm?

Why is the farm not certified organic?
The simple answer: we are too small (with too few labor hours available) to devote time to the paperwork and the direct expense of the fee. Why is the farm not certified biodynamic? The simple answer: biodynamic is a specific term used to describe growing methods developed in Europe by Rudolf Steiner. It emphasizes farm-based inputs and feeding the soil instead of feeding the plants and was the basis for what 'organic' agriculture would become but, certification requires a rigid use in both timing and type of application, and that you must use them all and they need to be made a very specific way, that allows very little for the context of the land you are actually in relationship with. Also, the paperwork and fee is outside the reach of this very small farm. Why is the farm not certified naturally grown? The simple answer: While this certification is much more accessible in paperwork and fees (you are certified by other farmers in your area), outside of being able to put an extra little logo on the farm's products, we don't see a benefit worth the time and money required. It is the most accessible but we sell in a small community and the farm is visible to all, with visitors commonly here for classes and events. |
