Dragon's Scale Salve
A salve for your skin made with farm-grown and wildcrafted botanicals infused into olive oil and blended with beeswax.
I grew up helping my Dad (an Acupuncturist and Herbalist) collect the ingredients from our yard and the surrounding woods, infuse the oils, and blend them into a salve. Then it was called the 'ointment', now it is Dragon's Scale Salve!
I used to use it on scraped knees and bruised elbows and now I use it on tractor-worn hands and planting-bruised knees. It works just as well now as it did then.
Growing up it was like a mantra! Got a bee sting. Ointment. Got a bruise. Ointment. Fell in the Nettles. Ointment. Cut your hand. Ointment. Scraped your shin. Ointment. Burned your hand pulling the cookies out of the oven. Well, you get it!
For best results, get a big ol' glob and put it on the ouchie like your frosting a cake. Nice and thick! Then cover with clean gauze or a sticky bandage. It seems hardened now but the beeswax and oil will begin to melt with the heat of your skin, so you wanna keep it away from anything you don't want a big greasy stain on!
It also works great as a chapstick, just maybe don't 'cake' it on so much then!
