- Sweet William
I'm a tender perennial in zones 6-8 but I've been surviving our zone 4/5 winters! If started early in spring, I'll bloom the first year with a splash of red, purple, pink, and white.
My petals are edible with a mild clove flavor and wonderful garnishes for salads, desserts, and those fancy drinks.
help me grow:
Start me indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and plant me out while temps are still cool as I'm not really bothered by frosts.
enjoy my bounty:
For my longest vase life, harvest my blooms when 10-20% of flowers in each cluster are open.
