- Purple Coneflower
I'm a perennial that has been grown for both medicine and beauty. Being a perennial, I'll bloom the second year after planting and then you can enjoy my violet-pink petals with and amber center. Use my blooms in bouquets with or without petals to add texture and interest.
help me grow:
To give me the best start, sow my seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost, or direct seed me as soon as the soil is workable. If using my roots, let me grow 4-5 years before harvest.
enjoy my bounty:
To use my blooms in fresh bouquets, harvest when petals are unfurling. For dry use, wait until my spiky center is raised, strip the petals and hang to dry.
